Inventev was founded by the former HUMMER CTO exploring truck electrification in 2010/2011 while battery costs were still very high and the industry was just scratching the surface on electrification. Since its founding Inventev has been laser focused on complementing industry truck platforms with features valued by job-site oriented fleets including EV driving, idle avoidance, backup power generation and extended emergency 24/7 operation.
Inventev's vision is to complement the large automotive truck portfolio offerings with EV functions and features that are very targeted to commercial fleet needs...particularly in the medium duty part of the market viewed as too niche for large OEM R&D prioritization. The use of up-fit (or second-stage) manufacturing has been used for decades to adapt generic truck platforms into custom work trucks. With the undisputed industry trend toward
electrification, addressing the job-site medium duty work truck segments is a natural evolution that Inventev plans to lead.
Our EV Technology
Inventev's technology is rooted in a key concept in the automotive industry to integrate functionality for lower costs, added features and increased reliability. Traditionally, "failures" of systems occur at interfaces and connection points. By creating an integrated propulsion module (or PHEV transmission) fewer connection points means better reliability; AND, devices such as motors can be combined and controlled differently to add functions and yield more system performance from smaller devices.
